Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - the (unofficial) game!
The ZX Spectrum opened the world of gaming and programming to thousands of British children. While many were content to play purchased games, some were also inspired to try to create their own software, often in the slow and clunky Sinclair BASIC. This is an example of just such a BASIC home-made game. The following judges comments were recorded for this game in the Comp.Sys.Sinclair Crap Game Competition (CSSCGC) 1999:
You play Joe and have to guide him around the town. Some of the names might sound familiar.
Alistair: Another good game from the Gonad, but again too good to be classed as truly crap, as Graham says far too much fun to be crap.
Graham: This game could have almost been a license of Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, a film that I immensely enjoyed. Unfortunately for the game, this mental association of mine means that I had nothing but fun in Joe's quest to gain ?100. Even when I was caught by the rozzers (ouch!).
